This guy needs to invest in titanium patio furniture.

I’d start lining the property line with police grade spike strips

Best part
But that post on the corner needs a “no semi turn” sign, or something.

I think the better question is why the hell are semis using a residential street to get from Point A to Point B

So, how many times did this happen before he decided to put up the cameras?

Exactly, local traffic laws should ban such vehicles from residential streets. I wonder how many times the trucks just kept going and left the owner out to dry.

Don’t worry they run over pedestrians, old people, children too and just drive off.

I don’t have any sources to link, but I know a guy who trucks for a living. He says that the word-on-the-street is that the powers-that-be want even longer trucks (>53’) to become standard.

Longer trailers? God no. But those little half-length ones that double-up... let truckers tow at least three at a time. That could hypothetically remove a third of the trucks on the road and significantly lower congestion, pollution, AND prices of goods with only a negligible safety concern. And with the loss in business for truckers, only the safest and most efficient ones would keep their jobs, so that might even mean an overall increase in safety.
So yeah. If we’re talking longer trailers, that’s crazy. But more of them on every truck would be an excellent idea.

Both of these videos claim to be of hit-and-runs.

If that was my property I’d buy a 8ft long thick-wall steel pipe, bury it so about 4 ft were above ground right behind the street sign post, fill it with concrete and pour a 1-2 ft wide concrete footer around it that goes down most/all of the length. Then have a square plate welded to the top that is 1” wider than the pipe Then put a potted plant on the top and claim it was a plant stand. A trailer hitting that would not make it far enough into the yard to damage the patio, and the plate on the top would nicely slice open the side of the trailer.
Any trucker that tried to complain or blame me for the damage to his trailer would have to explain why he was up over the sidewalk and had already taken out a street sign and not stopped before he hit my little surprise.
But then, I’m a bit of an asshole.
